Adelaide: Goodwood
Goodwood grade separation occurred from late 2012 to mid 2013 and needed to coordinate with the opening the Seaford line for the introduction of electric trains.
PYB Consulting was brought on board in December 2012 to manage the staged relocation of signalling assets ahead of a challenging schedule of civil excavation works.
Initial cable identification and diagnosis
Goodwood was at that time a junction where the Noarlunga line (closed for major resignalling), the still operating Belair line and the ARTC main line came together.
PYP Consulting advised on the staging strategy, then, week by week prepared designs to allow progressive decommissioning of location cases and appropriate relocation of functions still required for still-operating lines.

The work included bringing on board appropriate expertise to diagnose and correct pre-existing faults in the Belair datalink which became apparent during planned changeovers when the integrity of the redundant line was relied on.
The challenging works schedule was met and completion of the grade separation occurred on time.
