Gaol Loop CTC Screen

Following the successful conclusion of the CTC project, Peter Burns was been engaged by Trans Adelaide and its successors (now DPTI) to carry out a number of studies and client design reviews of projects over a number of years.

These included the proposal in 2012 to partially re-activate gaol loop as a turn-back facility during major works in Adelaide Yard.

Signal lamp inspection

A study of LED light signal types suitable for use in Adelaide was carried out in 2011. This led to development of recommended specifications for various signal types as well as for lamp proving.

LED tender valuations

The project was put to tender but, at a time when funding could not be found to electrify between Adelaide and Dry Creek, it did not go ahead.

Other studies have included the use of Jointless Track Circuits on the Adelaide network and comparing grade separation with pedestrian gates at pedestrian crossings at a number of stations.

Design review for Adelaide Metropolitan Rail Upgrade works have included those for Gawler line (multiple stages), Noarlunga line (multiple stages) and Outer Harbor (Woodville turnback).

Design review for tram projects have included Glenelg line level crossing upgrade works.
